Deliverance is a noun meaning “the act of delivering someone or something : the state of being delivered; especially : liberation, rescue.” This is what that the reverend and his son called it when they tore Her from Clare’s body.
Clare didn’t ask to be liberated. She didn’t ask to be set free from Her, her demon. They were each other’s only. They were all each other had and when her stepfather called on the reverend to take Her away, no one asked Clare how she felt about it. She never got a say. Now, Clare will do anything to get Her back, but the only thing she has left of Her are the clues She left behind.
Clare scours her small, Southern town for answers, but is she prepared for the truths she may uncover about her town and herself? Find out when Jimmy Cajoleas’s dark and twisty The Good Demon hits shelves on September 18.
But first, take a peek inside!
