One of the hardest parts of being a book lover is the lack of merchandise. Unless your favorite book gets picked up to be a movie or a TV show, your options are really limited and usually depend on participating in pre-order campaigns, going to events, or subscribing to YA book boxes.
Since we feel your pain, we decided to compile all the shops we could find that sell YA book merchandise – and there’s actually quite a few! So, we’re breaking up our finds by region – a sort of virtual road trip if you will. Most of the products are candles, with some bookmarks and art prints scattered in. But when you really love books, you’ll take what you can get, right?
First up on our virtual tour: the East Coast! Meander from New York all the way down to Florida and see what goodies you can find for your favorite YA books. Pretty much all of these shops will have things inspired by Harry Potter, Sarah Maas’s books, and Leigh Bardugo’s titles, so we’ll highlight some that are a bit harder to find.
New York – The Melting Library: A candle shop including candles for An Ember in the Ashes, A Daughter of Smoke and Bone, and Roar.
New York – From the Page: Pop Culture and bookish candles, lip balms, roll on perfumes and, yes, beard oils, including ones inspired by Flame in the Mist, Lady Midnight, and Jaws.
New York – Wick and Fable: Candles, teas, and bath and body products with inspirations like Wintersong, Stalking Jack the Ripper, and To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before.
New Jersey – Waxspurts: This candle shop mostly focuses on Disney and Harry Potter, but also includes candles for Milk & Honey and The Raven Boys.
New Jersey – Nerdie Nifties: As this shop describes its contents: “Nerdy Soy Candles, Dorky Bath Bombs, Geeky Natural Lip Balms, Housewares & more, all inspired by the world of fiction.” Need we say more?
New Jersey – Wax Wits: A shop for all of your fantasy candle needs, including ones for Truthwitch and Nevernight.
Pennsylvania – Flick the Wick: Another candle shop particularly focused on fantasy, including A Darker Shade of Magic.
Pennsylvania – Belle and Co Candles: This shop focuses on candles and body products built around some of the most iconic fictional ladies, from Elizabeth Bennet to Tessa Gray.
Virginia – The Biblio Factory: Like your candles small? This shop sells 4 oz ones inspired by favorites like Red Queen, Miss
Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, and Strange the Dreamer.
North Carolina – Reverie and Ink: This clever designer has a Society6 for you to find wearable and usable bookish merch, plus an Etsy where you can get bookmarks and prints.
North Carolina – Liberdestella: Bookmarks, jewelry, tote bags, candles, mugs, perfumes, and journals are available in this shop.We love the variety of objects and the variety of books that inspire them – Heartless, The Wrath and the Dawn (being discontinued!), The Star-Touched Queen, A Crown of Wishes, The Falconer, and so many others we’ve already mentioned in this post.
South Carolina – Written in Wax: This candle shop changes with the seasons. For summer, there’s a special focus on contemporary reads like The Unexpected Everything and To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before.
Georgia – Geek Splendors LLC: Candles and soaps inspired by movies, games, TV shows, and books like The Young Elites and Caraval.
Georgia – Shouni: Though a small selection, this Society6 shop features quotes you can wear, use, or decorate your room with, including some for books like I’ll Give You the Sun, And I Darken, Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda, and The Upside of Unrequited.

Nox to Lumos Candles
Florida – Cornerfolds Candles: A newer shop, candles include ones inspired by Spindle Fire, Heartless, and Flame in the Mist to go with a nice selection of Harry Potter candles.
Florida – Nox to Lumos Candles: For a little something different, this candle shop has “chunk” candles – different colored chunks throughout the wax for their pop culture and bookish candles, including one for The Bone Witch.
Florida – Nerdy Grl Designs: One stop shopping for character and book inspired bookmarks, magnetic bookmarks, and stickers from tons of your favorite series.
So, did you find anything you like on this leg of the “road trip”? If not, don’t worry, we’ve got more to come! But tweet us @piquebeyond and let us know what books you want to see merchandise for – maybe we’ll make sure our next trip has something for you.
