In the words of Queen B., “Who run the world? GIRLS.” With so many female celebrities having the most epic friend groups, we couldn’t help but ponder on which YA heroines we would most want in our own girl squads.
Together we’ll hang out, watch Netflix . . . and knowing these nine characters we’ll probably end up saving the world. Whether it be their bravery, loyalty, humor, intelligence, or just plain epicness—these fictional females would make a great girl gang.
Genie Lo – Epic Crush of Genie Lo
Genie is smart, funny and a force to reckoned with. Her determination in all things makes her a perfect fit for our squad.
Alyssa Gardner – Splintered Series
From the beginning until the end of her story, Alyssa Gardner was constantly evolving and learning who she was. She’ll do anything for the ones she loves and is up for an adventure with her squad, well at least not one down a rabbit hole.
Felicity Montague – The Gentlemen’s Guide to Vice and Virtue
Felicity is smart, funny, and a realist. She is a feminist before feminism was an idea. Plus, she’ll have great stories to tell her squad of her piracy.
Scarlett Dragna – Caraval
Scarlett will do anything to protect her younger sister and that loyalty is what landed her a spot in the squad.
Nina – Six of Crows
Nina is loud, funny, and charming; but most of all she is incredibly loyal. Nina makes for a great addition to our squad and would totally be up for some late night makeovers and eating lots of waffles.
Tess Kendrick – The Fixer
Tess is smart and gets stuff done like a young Olivia Pope. She’s definitely the girl you want in your corner when the going gets rough.
Celaena – Throne of Glass
Celaena is loyal to a fault and sarcastic to an extreme. She’s not the most warm and fuzzy, but she’d always be there for her girl squad if they needed her.
Willowdean – Dumplin’
Willowdean is funny and truly knows how to be herself. By the end of Dumplin’, gave up what she worked for most to let someone else have the spotlight which is why she would be a perfect for our girl squad.
Starr Carter – The Hate U Give
Starr Carter is an incredible friend, daughter, and sister. She has excellent taste in sneakers, books, and music. She would always stand up for those closest to her, which is why she is a must for our squad.
